Snow Day
We drove up to just beyond the snow line today so the kids could spend 20 minutes throwing snowballs at each other and sledding down the hill behind a gas station... They loved it!

Baby, You Can Drive My Car...
Chloe went off with her friend Alex for an action-packed weekend in NYC, and all I got was this blurry photo of the airport while I waited to pick them up. Life feels like one big car line sometimes...

Pop Art
These water bottle flowers, strung from ceiling to floor in a shop window, just stopped me in my tracks as Laura and I were running errands in Berkeley today. We watched a couple of women making them, their hands cut to smithereens by the sharp plastic. They were using spray paint and heat guns to create the final product, so technically it's not recycling, but still: you have to give them points for ingenuity and beauty.

Wee Free King
As we do every year, tonight we celebrated the Feast of the Kings with the traditional galette des rois. Someone sits under the table and assigns slices of this marzipan delectable as they are cut, and the person who finds the favor in his slice is crowned king for the day. To Jack's delight, it was finally his turn...!
