On my way to pick Chloé up at work tonight, I passed a little patch of wetland that borders Highway 101. Even though we've lived in the North Bay for nearly a dozen years, I do a double take each time I see these majestic egrets by the side of the road. They always make me feel as though I've been transported to some exotic spot far, far from home. My soul soars.
